The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) is reinforcing its position as a global innovation hub, with 69,000 high-tech enterprises and ten industrial clusters each valued at more than 1 trillion yuan. The Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou science and technology cluster ranked first globally in the 2025 Global Innovation Index, while Guangdong maintained China's lead in R&D spending, high-tech enterprises and international patent filings.

Manufacturing remains a key growth engine, with 76,000 industrial enterprises above designated size and continued expansion in advanced and high-tech manufacturing. Emerging industries are also gaining momentum, with drone production rising 39 percent as Shenzhen companies help China capture a significant share of the global market.

Regional integration continues to deepen, supported by more than 600 million yuan in research funding for Hong Kong and Macau projects. Fifteen unicorn companies with Hong Kong backgrounds have established headquarters in Guangdong, further strengthening cross-border innovation and business collaboration.
