Guangzhou is rolling out a comprehensive set of measures to make visits to the 139th Canton Fair smoother and more welcoming for international attendees. The event will take place from 15 April to 5 May at the Canton Fair Complex.

From arrival to departure, visitors can expect enhanced convenience. Dedicated lanes and streamlined processing for visa-free transit and on-arrival business visas aim to reduce waiting times at airports and passenger ports. More than 4,500 multilingual volunteers, supported by 12 types of AI robots developed by local tech firms, will be on hand to assist travellers throughout their journey.

Getting around the city will also be easier, with increased metro frequency, additional taxis and ride-hailing vehicles, and shuttle buses linking the exhibition venue to major wholesale markets.

Payment accessibility has been significantly expanded, with over 15,000 merchants now accepting international bank cards and nearly 400 metro stations supporting contactless entry. Currency exchange services have also been extended across key locations, alongside a new “OneStop” WeChat mini-programme offering dedicated support for overseas visitors.
