Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh–Tham Luong section) has recently completed the bidding process, with a consortium of companies from China, France, and Vietnam selected as the winner. The 11.3 km line will feature 11 stations, including 10 underground and one elevated.
This is not Guangzhou Metro’s first involvement in the project. Last year, a consortium led by the Guangzhou Metro Design & Research Institute won the contract for feasibility study adjustments, front-end engineering design, and procurement services. The contract symbolizes Guangzhou Metro’s successful entry into the Vietnamese market and lays a strong foundation for future rail projects in Southeast Asia.
As a global leader in planning, design, construction management, operational safety, and service quality, Guangzhou Metro provides technical and operational expertise to 20 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. As a key driver of Chinese rail transit’s global expansion, it is committed to sharing technology with partner countries and advancing collaboration in joint R&D, mutual recognition of standards, and talent exchange, delivering sustainable value to global partners.
