On September 4, a delegation of APEC media visited BYD’s headquarters in Pingshan, Shenzhen, gaining firsthand insight into China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sector.
At the site, the YANGWANG U9 showcased performance feats including suspension bouncing and drifting, attracting foreign journalists who eagerly captured the performances on camera. The delegation also toured core testing facilities such as the -30°C extreme cold flash charging chamber and the nail penetration laboratory. These demonstrations left a deep impression on the journalists, particularly regarding the technological research and development capabilities and quality-control systems of Chinese automakers.
After the test ride, Alexey Migunov, co-founder of PrimaMedia, noted that electric vehicles are “fast, environmentally friendly, convenient, and relatively quiet”, and that China has emerged as a global leader in this industry.
Aman Haq, Controller of International Relations at Pakistan Television, noted that China’s NEVs enjoy wide popularity in Pakistan for their eco-friendly attributes and high cost-effectiveness, even local traffic police have procured them.
Through on-site visits and hands-on experiences, the APEC media on the tour gave high praise to China’s NEV industry for its cutting-edge technologies and product quality.
