A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy task force has arrived in Surabaya, Indonesia, for a four-day goodwill visit aimed at strengthening naval ties and fostering people-to-people exchanges.

The PLA Navy's 83rd task force docked at Tanjung Perak Port on Sunday, where it will take part in a series of activities with the Indonesian Navy, including reciprocal ship visits, cultural exchanges and sporting events. The task force will also host a deck reception and open its vessels to local residents and members of the Chinese community.

The visit reflects the Chinese Navy's commitment to promoting openness, friendship and international co-operation while providing personnel with valuable operational and cross-cultural experience.

Following the port call, the Chinese and Indonesian navies will conduct joint maritime exercises, further enhancing practical co-operation and mutual understanding between the two sides.
