Shenzhen’s technology companies are harnessing artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and embodied intelligence to strengthen ties with the Asia-Pacific region as the city prepares to host the 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
Scheduled for Nov. 18-19 under the theme “Openness, Innovation and Cooperation”, the meeting marks China’s third time hosting the event.
As a major sci-tech innovation hub, Shenzhen is providing a platform for local companies to demonstrate emerging technologies and explore wider markets.
Embodied-intelligence firm X Square Robot is developing general-purpose robots designed to address real-world challenges and has been selected for a national elderly-care pilot project. Its technology will be tested in nursing homes, where safety and human-machine interaction are key requirements.
Meanwhile, SmartMore is developing its IndustryGPT model to help manufacturers move beyond machine vision towards AI-powered understanding, reasoning and action.
