Li pottery is a treasured national intangible cultural heritage of Hainan and a cultural emblem of Sanya's local ethnic communities. Recently, a group of international visitors came to Sanya's intangible cultural heritage workshop to explore the millennium-old craft up close.

A representative inheritor of Li pottery guided the visitors through the heritage exhibition area and the pottery workshop, explaining the craft's evolution and historical origins. From the selection of raw clay to the ancient open-air firing process, each traditional step embodies the life wisdom of earlier generations, enabling the international visitors to gain a deep understanding of the Li ethnic folk culture embedded in a handful of clay.

The visitors then tried their hand at Li pottery making, learning basic techniques from the representative inheritor and crafting pottery jars, cups, and other vessels, experiencing firsthand the warmth and depth of traditional craftsmanship. Through interactive, hands-on practice, the event vividly showcased the artistry of Sanya's intangible cultural heritage and brought the time-honored Li pottery culture to the international stage.  

Going forward, Hainan will continue to explore engaging and innovative formats to broaden the international reach of local culture and share the vitality of its intangible cultural heritage with a wider audience.
