Hong Kong will ring in 2026 with a refreshed New Year Countdown at Central’s Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct, combining live music and immersive light displays. Legendary duo Air Supply will headline with a special set of their iconic hits, joined by local favourites Jay Fung and Cloud Wan. Performances will also feature a children’s choir and the Hong Kong Police Band, building up to the midnight moment.
As part of the Immersive Light Show, eight landmark façades will display a giant countdown clock and festive projections, culminating in a three‑minute sequence themed “New Hope, New Beginnings”. In respect of recent events, there will be no fireworks this year.
The celebrations will extend citywide, with large screens relaying the event at Chater Garden and Edinburgh Place, projections at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and a giant countdown at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Complementary festivities include Hong Kong Disneyland’s “New Year Countdown Moment” and the West Kowloon Cultural District’s inaugural concert.
