Hong Kong is pursuing an ambitious green transition under its First Five-Year Plan, targeting zero-carbon energy, phasing out fuel-propelled private cars by 2035, and developing smart green transit systems. The strategy also includes transforming Kwai Tsing Container Terminals into a smart, green logistics hub, establishing green marine fuel bunkering centers, expanding conservation areas in the Northern Metropolis, and protecting wetlands and parks. By combining clean-tech research with green finance, Hong Kong aims to show how a high-density global hub can build a sustainable, world-class home for future generations.
