[Inno & Tech] High-Tech Greeters: Robots Welcome Students Back to School
: :

After the Spring Festival, schools across China kicked off the new semester with a high-tech twist. In Guangzhou, several primary schools welcomed students back with special guests—robots and robotic dogs—adding excitement to the first day of the new term.

At the school gates, traditional lion dancers performed alongside robotic dogs dressed in lion costumes, spinning and playfully stomping their feet like real pets greeting their owners. Students were delighted by the familiar yet futuristic welcome.

Some schools also arranged for robots and robotic dogs to perform at the opening ceremony. The robotic dogs mimicked the movements of traditional lion dances, while robots brought kung fu performances from television to life. Students were invited to interact with the robots, further igniting their enthusiasm for technology.

Educators say that nurturing innovation and encouraging hands-on exploration are now priorities in primary education. Moving forward, schools plan to invite academicians to give lectures and partner with science museums and universities to establish youth talent development programs—aiming to inspire the next generation of innovators from an early age.
