China has taken a major step forward in advanced display manufacturing as the country's first next-generation flexible AMOLED production line officially entered mass production in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.   Developed by BOE Technology Group, the facility focuses on producing premium medium-sized display panels for laptops and tablets. With a total investment of 63 billion yuan (US$9 billion), it is the largest single industrial project in China's display sector by investment value.   The production line is designed to manufacture up to 32,000 glass substrates each month, supported by intelligent logistics, automated capacity management and a highly integrated supply chain.   Compared with conventional technologies, the new AMOLED displays are expected to reduce power consumption by 20 to 30 percent while extending product lifespan by three to four times. The breakthrough is set to accelerate the adoption of thinner, more energy-efficient and cost-effective displays in next-generation smart devices worldwide.
