In Guangzhou, southern China, a pavilion showcases over 100 smart, elderly-friendly products. These range from motion-activated range hoods and anti-fall vests to adjustable lifting toilets and one-button standing sofas. Many seniors have visited to experience and test these products in person.
China’s first dedicated home-based elderly care space for people aged 60 and above has been established in Guangzhou. The venue brings together seven living scenarios, including health monitoring, daily mobility, cooking, and bathing.
Slip resistance is a major concern for seniors when bathing. The walk-in bathtub opens 180 degrees to the side, allowing users to stand or sit inside. Equipped with a showerhead, handrails, and backrests, it provides a safe and flexible bathing solution.
Recent data shows Guangzhou’s senior economy has reached 340 billion yuan, accounting for over 10% of the city’s GDP. The city is promoting elderly-friendly products through exhibitions, subsidies, and both online and offline consumption initiatives.
