A key semiconductor materials project in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, southern China, has been connected to the power grid after the local utility adopted an improved service model, reducing a construction timeline that normally takes six months to just three months and delivering electricity seven days ahead of schedule.
The project, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan, has very high power demand. Under normal procedures, the supporting power supply work for a project of this scale would take about half a year. To help the project begin operations earlier, the utility streamlined the approval process by dividing it into separate modules and advancing civil works, electrical work, and testing simultaneously.
The project’s launch fills a gap in Zhuhai’s high-end semiconductor materials sector and provides a stronger power supply foundation for the development of new quality productive forces.
