Artificial intelligence (AI) is moving rapidly from the digital world into everyday life, with humanoid robots, AI agents and AI-powered glasses opening up new possibilities for how people work and live, according to an industry report released Tuesday.
Published by the China Internet Network Information Center, the Report on the Development of Generative AI Applications (2026) said China developed more than 400 complete humanoid robot products in the first half of this year, accounting for over half of the global total. Annual output is expected to exceed 100,000 units.
The growth of AI-powered products is also driving new demand and applications across industries. China's robot exports reached 11.3 billion yuan (around 1.69 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter, reaching 148 countries and regions.
Meanwhile, AI is becoming increasingly embedded in industry, with its application rate among industrial enterprises above designated size surpassing 30 percent. Agricultural large models have also emerged rapidly, while embodied AI is finding applications in manufacturing, surgery and everyday services.
