The 2026 Bay Area Semiconductor Industry Ecosystem Expo recently wrapped up in Shenzhen. The event drew more than 1,000 leading semiconductor companies from around the world and showcased over 3,000 new products making their annual debut. Participants included more than 50 universities, 150 top scholars, several academicians, over 500 industry leaders, and frontline technical experts. More than 40 high-level forums held during the expo connected dialogue across the full technology-to-industry chain, reinforcing its position as China's flagship exhibition for homegrown integrated circuit brands with global influence. Tech firms presented flowable carbon film deposition technology and equipment alongside the latest high-end semiconductor micro-processing equipment. AI companies displayed mass-produced chips developed for AI data centers, advanced silicon carbide modules, and more. During the expo, several research institutes formed strategic partnerships with enterprises to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem for compound semiconductors across industry, academia, research, and application. Several Greater Bay Area tech and computing power companies signed strategic cooperation agreements to build a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao heterogeneous computing platform integrating quantum, supercomputing, and intelligence. The three-day expo brought together industry, technology, talent, and capital to drive technological innovation, market expansion, and commercialization in China's semiconductor sector, enabling the industry to continue contributing "Chinese solutions" to the world.
