This year marks the 70th anniversary of the roll-off of the first domestically manufactured automobile in the People's Republic of China. To commemorate this historic milestone, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and China FAW Group Co., Ltd. have launched a series of commemorative events in Changchun, northeast China. A wide range of the latest domestically produced vehicle models is on display, showcasing the remarkable progress of China's automotive industry over the past seven decades.

On July 13, 1956, the first Chinese-made truck rolled off the production line in Changchun. This landmark achievement marked the beginning of China's automobile manufacturing industry, ending the country's reliance on foreign-made vehicles and launching the sector's journey from humble beginnings to global prominence.

Official statistics for 2025 show that both China's automobile production and sales exceeded 34 million units. New energy vehicle production reached 16.626 million units, while sales totaled 16.49 million units. Vehicle exports also reached 7.098 million units, further reinforcing China's position as a global automotive manufacturing powerhouse.
