After months of meticulous renovation, the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum in Central is set to reopen its doors to the public on November 7, welcoming visitors with a fresh look and a brand-new special exhibition.
Housed in the elegant Kom Tong Hall at 7 Castle Road, the museum will debut “From Healing Patients to Saving a Nation – Dr Sun Yat-sen in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao”, a showcase exploring the revolutionary’s early medical career and humanitarian vision.
Built in 1914 as the residence of businessman Ho Kom-tong, the declared monument retains its original splendour; from Greek-style granite columns and stained-glass windows to a graceful teak staircase and French-style “White Hall.”
Since opening as a museum in 2006, the site has chronicled Dr Sun’s life and Hong Kong’s role in his reformist journey. Admission remains free, with the special exhibition running until March 31, 2026.
