Guangzhou’s Nansha District is coming alive with excitement as it prepares to welcome the 15th National Games this November, showcasing modern sports venues and a refreshed coastal atmosphere.
From November 7, the wave-inspired Nansha Gymnasium will host the Wushu (taolu) competition, followed by mass tennis events at the newly expanded Nansha International Tennis Centre from November 15. Now featuring 32 hard, clay, and grass courts built to “Grand Slam” standards, the centre has become one of the region’s most versatile facilities. Both venues have undergone substantial upgrades and will continue to serve as spaces for concerts, exhibitions, and community events after the Games.
Beyond the arenas, Nansha’s 20-kilometre coastal corridor, dotted with parks, beaches, and leisure zones, has quickly become a local hotspot. With new pocket parks, smart bus stops, and playful bridge spaces, the district blends sport, nature, and modern living – ushering in a vibrant new chapter for the Greater Bay Area.
