In Guangzhou, a city on the move, more than 50 new-energy and smart-connected vehicles recently turned downtown into a rolling tech showcase. This wasn’t just a parade—it was a hands-on, test-drive-ready spectacle bringing the future of driving directly to the public.
The convoy rolled out in two themed waves: first, an innovation lineup spotlighting smart-connected and electric models, followed by a cutting-edge platoon of autonomous vehicles, many proudly built right here in Guangzhou.
Zhang Yuxue, Marketing & PR Director, Auto Company:
“The vehicle we’re riding in is a fully driverless taxi. What makes it possible? Take a look at the sensors—from the rooftop radar to the camera modules on every side. Together, they give the car 360-degree perception, reaching far beyond what the human eye can see.”
With 70 years of auto heritage, Guangzhou today is a powerhouse of innovation—home to nine major carmakers and over a thousand parts suppliers. It consistently ranks among China’s top producers, and its new-energy vehicle sector has skyrocketed, averaging over 60% annual growth across the past five years.
Adding to the excitement, organizers also parked a curated static display of nearly 40 vehicles along the riverfront—from timeless classics to the latest autonomous and electric models—creating a walk-through journey from Guangzhou’s automotive past straight into its electrified, self-driving future.
