Located in southern China, the Changkeng Reservoir is a vital water body that serves multiple roles: protecting drinking water sources, supporting flood control, sustaining ecosystems, and providing scenic recreation. In recent years, the picturesque surroundings have been enhanced by the creation of the Changkeng Country Trail—a 7.14-kilometre pathway that has quickly become a favourite among hikers.

The trail features southern and northern routes, connecting corridors, stone-paved paths, bamboo groves, streams, and waterfalls. Walking along the trail, visitors are greeted by sweeping views of blue skies, clear water, and lush greenery, while breathing in fresh air that revitalises both body and mind. Along the way, there are 14 viewing platforms and a campsite of nearly 6,000 square meters. Vending machines, coffee shops, and vendors selling local snacks are also available, offering visitors a comfortable place to relax.

Staff hope the trail will draw visitors from across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area to discover Zhongshan’s pristine natural setting—a place to unwind, connect with nature, and find peace in its serene landscape.
