For the first time, the Cambodia Tourism Board has joined the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) alongside local production companies, welcoming international industry players to film in Cambodia. It also announced plans to invite 500 international travel agency representatives to visit the country for familiarisation tours.

"Hong Kong FILMART is one of the very internationally well-known events, that Cambodians always participate in the past. We do not see just Hong Kong, we see as a Greater Bay Area. Which is in close proximity to Cambodia with two-hour flights.

The international film producers coming here is easy, and it’s also convenient for them if they would like to do location scouting or to bring their team to shoot film in Cambodia.

We are now building a relationship with international stakeholders including filmmakers, producers, also travel agents, airline as well. So that we promote world awareness about Cambodia.

We would like to emphasise that Cambodia does not have just Angkor Wat. We have Angkor Chakal Park which has 3,000 temples. In addition, we have 440 kilometres long coastal area. Very urban cities and tropical rainforest. Mangrove forest as well.

So, we have diversity of tourism or filming locations to welcome them."
