Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) has wrapped up a four-day visit to Germany aimed at connecting with Europe’s innovation and technology community and showcasing opportunities in Hong Kong’s growing tech sector.
A key highlight was a hackathon co-organised with the EuroTech Federation in Munich on June 6 and 7, drawing around 1,200 applications from young entrepreneurs across Europe. About 250 finalists competed for more than 30 hours in four categories: FinTech, HealthTech, Smart City, and Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, with 16 winners selected.
HKTE Director Felix Chan said Hong Kong’s international connectivity and proximity to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area make it an attractive destination for entrepreneurs and technology talent seeking to expand in Asia.
The winners will visit Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities in September to explore the region’s innovation ecosystem and business opportunities.
