The Shenzhen-Milan Lifestyle Week opened in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, on Friday, highlighting growing collaboration between the Chinese and Italian fashion industries.

Held under the theme "Digital Fashion, Eastern Expression", the week-long event features runway shows, exhibitions, industry forums, factory visits and a range of citywide activities, bringing together designers, brands and industry leaders from both countries.

A highlight of the opening weekend was a series of joint fashion shows featuring Chinese and Italian brands, blending contemporary design with cultural elements such as Cantonese opera and Dong ethnic folk songs that showcased the fusion of tradition and modern creativity.

The opening ceremony also saw the signing of several major fashion industry cooperation projects. China and Italy additionally launched a joint initiative to deepen collaboration between Shenzhen and Milan in fashion design, cultural and creative industries, and technological innovation, further strengthening ties between the two fashion hubs.
