The Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) have strengthened their long-standing partnership by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to boost co-operation against cross-border crime.

During a visit to Seoul from July 28 to 29, Commissioner of Police Chow Yat-ming led an HKPF delegation in discussions with Acting Commissioner General Yoo Jae-sung. The agreement expands collaboration in tackling offences such as cybercrime, drug trafficking, human trafficking and money laundering, while enhancing intelligence sharing, professional training and capacity building.

The two police forces first signed an MOU in 2015 and have since worked closely on areas including anti-scam operations, major event policing and officer development. The renewed agreement reflects their commitment to addressing evolving crime trends and strengthening regional law enforcement co-operation.

The delegation also visited the Police Human Resources Development Institute, the Korean National Police University, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and a cybercrime investigation unit to exchange expertise on police training, leadership development and the use of innovative technologies to combat emerging cyber threats.
