The Hong Kong Palace Museum presents “Treasures of the Mughal Court," a dazzling exhibition of Mughal masterpieces from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, opening August 6.
The Mughal Empire (1526–1857), one of history’s most opulent dynasties, fused Persian, Central Asian, and Indian influences, leaving behind architectural wonders like the Taj Mahal. Founded by Emperor Babur, it flourished under visionary rulers—Akbar the Great, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb—before declining due to internal strife and colonial pressures.
This exhibition features over 100 artifacts, including paintings, gem-studded jewelry, arms, and ceramics divided into three eras:
Akbar’s Renaissance (1556–1605) – Cultural patronage
Jahangir’s Global Collectibles (1605–1627) – Cross-cultural treasures
Shah Jahan’s Architectural Genius (1628–1658) – Including Taj Mahal motifs
Don’t miss this rare glimpse into an empire that shaped art, history, and luxury!
