The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is set to make its return on January 18, 2026, and it’s shaping up to be a truly global celebration of running.

For the first time, teens aged 10 to 15 can take part in a “Youth Run” the day before the main events at Kai Tak Sports Park. With space for 2,500 participants, the race is meant to inspire the next generation of runners and give teens a chance to experience the thrill of long-distance racing in a supportive environment.

Beyond the Youth Run, the marathon will welcome elite runners from across the world, competing alongside Hong Kong’s finest. Organisers are stepping up international promotions, targeting long-haul markets to bring in more global participants and make the race a showcase of the city’s vibrant sporting energy.

With a total of over 78,000 participants each year, the marathon has become more than a race – it’s a hub for local and international runners to connect, compete, and embrace the joy of running in Hong Kong.
