[Hong Kong Vision] Hong Kong Youth Explore Opportunities Under First Five-Year Plan

More than 80 young people in Hong Kong took part in a dialogue on the city’s first Five-Year Plan, sharing ideas on how the blueprint for 2026-2030 could create new opportunities for the younger generation.

The discussion, held on September 29, was attended by Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak, Under Secretary Clarence Leung and Commissioner for Youth Andy Lam.

Youth development is a dedicated focus of the plan, which aims to broaden opportunities in education, employment, entrepreneurship and exchanges, while helping young people develop their talents and pursue their ambitions. It also highlights greater participation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and international youth exchanges.

At the dialogue, participants discussed measures including youth internships and aerospace training in the Chinese mainland, as well as plans for an International Young Talent Exchange Base and a new youth leaders internship programme with the United Nations.

Mak also invited young people to share ideas on future youth start-up and AI experiential programmes. The third Youth Development Summit will be held on November 7, providing another platform for young people from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and overseas to connect and exchange ideas.
