[HK Thrills] Hong Kong International Airport Launches Free City Tours for Transit Passengers
: :

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is transforming layovers into cultural adventures with the launch of its Free Layover Tour programme, created in partnership with a leading online travel platform. Targeting the 5.5 million transit passengers passing through the city each year, the initiative aims to showcase Hong Kong’s rich culture while strengthening HKIA’s role as a leading international aviation hub.

Designed for travellers with layovers of seven hours or more, the tours are provided at no cost, offering a seamless, hands-off experience with guides, transport, and tickets included. Two themed routes are currently available: the Heritage and Local Lifestyle Citywalk, featuring fortune-telling at Wong Tai Sin Temple and a dive into Sham Shui Po’s local life, and the Victoria & West Kowloon Waterfront Journey, an evening excursion capped with dazzling harbour views. A third option, Serenity & Stories, launches this December.

With plans for future enhancements – ranging from shopping and dining to wellness and cultural activities – the tours aim to spark curiosity, spread word of mouth, and inspire visitors to return to Hong Kong as a destination in itself. Spots are limited, so advance booking is recommended!
