The Hong Kong Space Museum is set to open “A Voyage to Space: China’s Manned Space Expedition” on 19 November, an immersive exhibition that brings the story of the nation’s astronauts to life. Running until 27 April, the showcase follows their journey from rigorous training on Earth to pioneering missions aboard the Tiangong Space Station, while also spotlighting Hong Kong’s growing role in the country’s manned space programme.
The foyer has been transformed into a simulated “space station”, featuring a detailed Tiangong model and a replica of the second-generation “Feitian” spacesuit. Visitors can explore scientific experiments carried out in microgravity, examine planarian specimens, observe zebrafish behaviour, and discover how astronauts cultivate plants in orbit. Interactive stations allow guests to test potential crew roles and experience the mental training astronauts undergo.
The exhibition also highlights Hong Kong-led research flown into space and the city’s first payload specialist candidate. Launched as part of the museum’s 45th-anniversary celebrations, admission is free.
