Hong Kong will ring in the Year of the Horse with two headline celebrations that blend tradition, spectacle and high-energy excitement.

On the second day of Chinese New Year, spectators lining both sides of Victoria Harbour will be treated to a dazzling fireworks display, illuminating the skyline as the city ushers in the festive season. Free to view and lasting around 23 minutes, the show begins at 8pm on 18 February, offering a memorable way to start the new year on a spectacular note.

The celebrations continue on 19 February at Sha Tin Racecourse with the much-anticipated Year of the Horse Raceday. Alongside exhilarating horse races, visitors can enjoy a full programme of festive activities, from lion dances and live music to themed photo spots and lively entertainment. Admission is free for visitors holding a valid travel document, making it an ideal opportunity to soak up Hong Kong’s vibrant Chinese New Year atmosphere.
