China unveiled its most comprehensive lineup of homegrown aero-engine technologies at the ongoing 2025 Dubai Airshow, marking a major milestone in the country’s push to expand its global aviation footprint. Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) showcased 19 power systems across five dedicated zones, spanning military, commercial, and gas-turbine applications.
Centre stage was the Taihang high-thrust turbofan engine, now widely deployed across advanced fighter jets and emblematic of China’s rapid strides in engine development. The exhibit also featured innovations such as the KP16-3D: a compact, 3D-printed micro turbojet delivering 160 kilograms of thrust at just 20 kilograms in weight, tailored for UAVs and other flexible platforms.
Making its debut at the Dubai event, AECC also introduced products customised for Middle Eastern and African conditions. An AECC representative noted, the company brought offerings including a 1,100-kilowatt turboshaft engine with an “integrated multifunctional anti-sand system,” a capability well suited to the region’s frequent sand and dust environments.
