After years of dedicated research, the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved a major breakthrough in perovskite-organic tandem solar cell technology. The device achieved a certified steady-state power conversion efficiency of 28.04%, and the research findings were published in the international academic journal Nature on July 13.
Built on this technology, the perovskite-organic tandem solar cell has set a new world record with its 28.04% steady-state power conversion efficiency. The device also demonstrates outstanding stability: after 625 hours of continuous operation under illumination, it retained 90% of its initial power conversion efficiency.
In the future, this new solar cell technology is expected to be applied across a wide range of fields, including buildings, transportation, and smart wearables. It could also provide reliable power for aerospace applications such as satellites.
