The exhibition hall of the China Language Resources Protection Project recently opened in Changsha, Hunan. The hall brings together over 1,800 data points on Chinese dialects, minority languages, and cultural expressions, alongside more than 30 language-related cultural relics from across the country. With a strong focus on digital displays, it offers an immersive, interactive, and experiential cultural space.

Language thrives through interaction. The hall features several hands-on stations: at "Listen and Identify," visitors speak in their local dialect and the system pinpoints its geographic origin; at "Voiceprint Imprint," their speech is transformed into a unique sound pattern, revealing the hidden fingerprints of language.

In early 2025, during the Myanmar earthquake, Beijing Language and Culture University leveraged the DeepSeek model to develop a Chinese–Myanmar–English translation system in just seven hours, swiftly bridging communication gaps and marking the first use of China's LLM technology in international disaster response. At the opening ceremony, the National Language Technology Empowerment Alliance was formally launched, bringing together universities and research institutes across China. The alliance aims to advance the integration of linguistics and AI, to develop more language models for emergency response, social governance and beyond.
