[Inno & Tech] Humanoid Robot Fighting League Makes Global Debut in Shenzhen
: :

The world's first fighting league for humanoid robots has debuted in Shenzhen, bringing together more than 200 teams from China, the United States, Singapore and other countries in a showcase of cutting edge robotics and artificial intelligence.

Officially named the Ultimate Robot Knock-out Legend (URKL), the competition features full sized humanoid robots competing in kickboxing matches inside an octagon arena. Thirty two teams advanced to the final stage, where they are vying for a championship title and a 10 million yuan (1.5 million U.S. dollars) prize pool.

All teams compete using the standardised EngineAI T800 humanoid robot, with judges assessing motion control, balance, perception, decision making, power systems and structural durability.

Beyond the spectacle, organisers say the event serves as a testing ground for technologies that could accelerate the development of future household robots. Shenzhen companies are also advancing companion robots with more natural interactions and emotional AI, while researchers believe continued innovation and investment will steadily bring humanoid robots closer to everyday consumer use.
