Police in Shenzhen are stepping up public safety measures with round-the-clock drone patrols during football matches at the Shenzhen Sports Center, as part of the 2026 Chinese Super League season.
With the Shenzhen Xinpengcheng Football Club now using the venue as its home ground, matches regularly draw crowds of over 10,000 fans, creating heavy foot traffic and increased security demands. To manage this, drones are deployed more than 100 metres above the stadium, providing real-time aerial monitoring of crowd movement and surrounding areas.
Dedicated teams operate the system, coordinating closely with officers on the ground to ensure swift responses to potential risks. During peak exit periods, when congestion is most likely, alerts allow authorities to quickly direct crowd flow and prevent dangerous build-ups.
The system has significantly improved response times, enabling police to identify issues early and maintain a safer, more organised environment for fans.
