More than 1,000 agricultural technologies and scientific advances were showcased at the 33rd China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, highlighting how innovation can make farming more efficient and precise.
One attraction was a four-legged robot equipped with wheels and sensors that allowed it to crawl across flat ground and stand upright to patrol orchards. Its flexible design helped it navigate the uneven terrain often found in agricultural settings.
Robotics were also improving fruit harvesting. A grape-picking robot used a flexible arm to handle fruit gently, helping minimise damage and reduce waste.
Elsewhere, drones and unmanned ground vehicles worked together with Beidou satellite technology to form an integrated crop protection system, offering farmers smarter ways to manage their fields.
Held from October 25 to 29, the fair covered 140,000 square metres and featured new crop varieties, smart equipment and robotic solutions designed for practical use in the fields.
