Ski resorts across northeast China’s Liaoning Province are drawing crowds this winter with a blend of lively experiences and local culture. At one national-level resort, visitors in colourful ski gear carved down the slopes, filling the area with energy and excitement.

“We rushed over here as soon as the resort opened,” said one skier, adding they had been skiing “non-stop.” Another described the experience as “incredibly refreshing,” a feeling they had missed for some time.

To enhance the atmosphere, the resort has woven local folk customs into its activities. A cosy dining area now offers traditional hot pots alongside seasonal treats such as strawberries and frozen pears, giving guests a chance to warm up, recharge, and enjoy a taste of the region’s winter flavours.
