An indoor skiing theme resort in Shanghai has ushered in the New Year with a festive line up of ice and snow activities, drawing both local residents and visiting holidaymakers during the three day break.

The venue has been transformed into a winter wonderland, with giant snowmen, fluttering snowflakes and thick blankets of snow creating a distinctly seasonal atmosphere. A range of interactive games, from snowball fights to snowman building, has added to the sense of celebration.

“We played snowball fights and built snowmen,” said visitor Zhang, describing the joy of experiencing a northern style winter in the south.

One of the highlights is a penguin parade, where the birds waddle through the icy setting, delighting onlookers with their playful antics. “It feels like we’ve come to Antarctica,” said Wang, another visitor, praising the resort’s diverse entertainment and immersive experience.
