[Cultural HK] From Heritage to Creativity: Haw Par Mansion’s Next Chapter
: :

Haw Par Mansion, one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive heritage landmarks, is preparing for a new life as a hub for arts and culture. From late 2026, the iconic Tai Hang Road site will be managed by the Foundation for Art and Culture Limited (FAC), a non-profit organisation committed to promoting Asian arts and fostering international cooperation between East and West.

The revitalisation project aims to balance preservation with innovation. While the mansion’s historic architecture and stories will remain central, FAC plans to introduce a vibrant cultural programme, ranging from exhibitions and performances to workshops, film screenings and international artist residencies. Collaborations with local, mainland and overseas creatives are expected to position the mansion as a space where cultural traditions meet fresh ideas.

Selected through a government-run process, FAC’s vision reflects Hong Kong’s broader goal of conserving its heritage while deepening its role in global cultural exchange. Even as the programming expands, the public will still be able to enjoy free guided tours, keeping this landmark open and alive for the local community.
