Hong Kong’s Heritage Fiesta 2026 will take visitors across the Northern Metropolis from October to December, highlighting 12 historic sites and buildings under the theme “Traversing Northern Metropolis”.

The programme will explore the area’s traditional towns and villages through three themes: New Territories clan culture, the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and the role of schools in nurturing talent over the past century.

Featured sites include the Ping Shan and Lung Yeuk Tau Heritage Trails, as well as ancestral halls, study halls and former police stations. The Ping Shan Heritage Trail, Hong Kong’s first heritage trail, includes historic buildings linked to the shared history of Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The festival will offer free guided tours, parent-child workshops and public talks. Open-top bus heritage tours will also be introduced for the first time on selected weekends.
