The Lam Tsuen Well-Wishing Festival is back, bringing the spirit of the Lunar New Year to Tai Po from February 17 to March 3. Visitors can join in the beloved tradition of tossing wishing placards onto the iconic banyan trees, while enjoying a lively mix of market stalls, food booths, and stage performances.
This year, the festival features 48 dry goods stalls, 16 food booths, and eight game stalls, alongside live performances by guest singers. Horse-themed installations celebrating the Year of the Horse will be placed across the venue, offering vibrant photo opportunities for all.
For the first time, the Lam Tsuen Wishing Plaza team will participate in the Lunar New Year parade in Tsim Sha Tsui on the festival’s opening day. Their “Light and Hope” float will showcase an illuminated wishing tree, colourful horses, and Hong Kong-inspired decorations, powered by environmentally friendly electricity.
As one of Hong Kong’s most iconic Chinese New Year events, the festival draws locals and tourists alike, offering a joyful celebration of tradition, hope, and community.
