Zhuhai is rolling out a fresh set of measures to make it easier for residents of Hong Kong and Macau to purchase homes on the mainland, in a move aimed at improving cross-border living and investment convenience.

In a notice issued by the city’s housing authority and five other departments, eight policy enhancements will be introduced over the next three years to streamline the home-buying process. Central to the plan is the launch of pilot “service stations” in residential communities popular with SAR buyers, offering one-stop support for mortgage procedures.

Authorities are also expanding integrated services for new home purchases to cover not only registration, transactions and taxation, but also utilities such as water, electricity and gas.

Further steps include facilitating cross-border transfers of second-hand property titles with mortgages, alongside revised deed tax rules.
