A new direct bus service linking Hong Kong and Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province officially began operations on Saturday, marking another step forward in improving cross-border transport within the Greater Bay Area.
The one-stop service is designed to make travel easier and more efficient, offering a bidirectional route with a total journey time of around 2.5 hours. Passengers benefit from a streamlined customs clearance arrangement featuring separate processing for passengers and vehicles. Two fixed departures are scheduled each day.
Fares are set at approximately US$21 for a single trip and just over US$40 for a round trip, with discounted rates available for children under three years old.
Beyond convenience for everyday travellers, the service is also expected to support cross-border property buyers by providing a more direct and accessible transport option. It is seen as another practical link strengthening integration between Hong Kong and Zhuhai, while further encouraging coordinated development across the region.
