A cultural exchange delegation, jointly organized by Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, recently visited Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for a hands-on program exploring the depth and efficacy of TCM.
In the orthopedics clinic, the delegation was introduced to “Shangke Huangshui,” a topical herbal preparation developed by the hospital. With a history dating back over a century, this pure herbal formula has proven highly effective in treating fractures and sprains, sparking strong interest among the visitors.
The hospital also showcased its signature techniques, including the “Fourteen Manipulations of Bone Setting,” buffalo horn cupping, and various moxibustion methods such as direct and indirect moxibustion, offering a comprehensive view of TCM’s unique practices.
Delegation members noted that Foshan, known as the home of martial arts, offers TCM treatments that are particularly effective for martial arts and sports injuries. Foshan Hospital of TCM welcomed the visit, stating that such exchanges help foster cross-cultural understanding and recognition of TCM, paving the way for its broader global presence.
