The final kilometre of Hong Kong Island’s East Coast Boardwalk has opened to the public on Monday (December 29), completing a continuous harbourfront promenade stretching around 13 kilometres from Kennedy Town to Shau Kei Wan.
Located in North Point, the newly opened Eastern Section links the North Point Promenade with Quarry Bay’s Hoi Yu Street, bringing Island West and East together through a seamless waterfront experience. The boardwalk runs beneath the Island Eastern Corridor and builds on the popularity of the Western Section, which opened earlier this year.
Open around the clock, the new section features a glass observatory deck with harbour views, pet-friendly spaces, flexible areas for art and community activities, and a small plaza at its eastern end. Designed as a shared, people-and-pet-friendly space, the boardwalk supports walking, jogging and cycling, further enhancing public access to Victoria Harbour.
