In the microscopic world, achieving high-precision measurement of both a signal's frequency and amplitude has long been a challenge. Conventional methods often improve one parameter at the expense of the other and are limited in overall accuracy. Recently, a technology team in Guangzhou's Nansha District made a major breakthrough in quantum precision measurement, overcoming this bottleneck with an innovative solution developed in-house.

 

The team leader explained that they have developed an ultra-sensitive "quantum radio" equipped with two "atomic ears" working in tandem—one responsible for frequency modulation and the other for amplitude modulation. An artificial intelligence system coordinates the two, ensuring seamless operation.

 

The device is the world's first to simultaneously measure both frequency and amplitude with such high precision. Even signals as faint as a mosquito's buzz can be clearly detected. The technology could be applied in fiber-optic communications to enable faster and more stable data transmission. It could also be used in precision instruments to detect previously immeasurable microscopic changes, laying a solid foundation for the development of next-generation intelligent quantum sensing devices.
