China's consumer humanoid robot market is gathering pace as companies roll out new products aimed at bringing advanced robotics into everyday life, marking a significant step toward large-scale commercialisation.
Designed for applications ranging from elderly care and household assistance to emotional companionship, the latest generation of humanoid robots is expanding the possibilities for home use. Some models can monitor health indicators, provide medication reminders, track dietary habits and generate reports for family members and healthcare providers, while others assist with household chores or offer natural conversations and interactive facial expressions.
Manufacturers are also introducing programmable, lightweight platforms to encourage developers to create new applications. One company has launched three versions of its ultra-bionic humanoid robot, with prices ranging from 18,000 USD to 145,000 USD. Powered by multimodal large language models, the robots can also support daily services such as booking travel, arranging medicine deliveries and accessing remote medical consultations.
With more than 10 companies unveiling new humanoid robots in June alone, the sector is growing rapidly. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology expects annual output of complete humanoid robots to exceed 100,000 units in 2026.
