Coffee consumption is surging among China’s youth. To celebrate this trend, Guangzhou's Haizhu District recently hosted its inaugural Coffee Carnival, showcasing the rapid expansion of the local coffee industry while offering office workers and enthusiasts an immersive specialty coffee experience.   Launched in the heart of a bustling business district, the event featured themed photo installations, cozy lounge areas, and interactive cupping zones. The carnival brought together 30 premium coffee, beverage, and bakery brands, drawing large crowds of professionals looking to recharge. A key highlight was a collaborative competition where baristas and enthusiasts worked together to identify bean profiles by aroma and flavor. This interactive format fostered a lively exchange of expertise while providing vendors with valuable data on evolving consumer preferences.   Moving forward, Haizhu District plans to accelerate coffee industry development within its commercial hubs to better serve the daily needs of urban professionals. By leveraging coffee as a cultural anchor, the district aims to upgrade leisure facilities and forge strategic links between the coffee sector and the convention, digital, and lifestyle economies—creating a more integrated and robust industrial ecosystem.
