China’s commercial deployment of humanoid robots is accelerating, as advances in artificial intelligence and automation drive the technology from research labs into real-world applications.
Industry observers say intensifying competition and innovation are expanding the capabilities of humanoid robots across sectors such as education, entertainment, customer service and early-stage industrial operations. These machines are increasingly used for data collection and training, exhibition services, and research, while gradual progress is being made in manufacturing environments.
According to industry data, global shipments of humanoid robots reached about 18,000 units in 2025, marking a sharp year-on-year increase of more than 500 percent. Full-size models, offering broader applications and higher commercial value, accounted for the largest share of market revenue.
Experts expect more technology providers, cloud service firms and component makers to enter the field as demand grows. Analysts also believe humanoid robots will help address labour shortages in manufacturing and warehousing, with future generations expected to perform more delicate and complex tasks in human-centred environments as the technology continues to mature.
