Xincun Community in Zhuhai recently celebrated the Lantern Festival with a dazzling parade, extending a warm invitation to residents from Hong Kong and Macao to join in the festivities.   A vibrant procession of 28 groups, comprising nearly 300 residents, meandered through the streets, delivering blessings to every family. Each lantern, with its unique theme and design, was lovingly handmade by residents over several months. Leading the procession was a magnificent lantern depicting a winged steed, followed by lively displays such as “land boat” dances and flower basket processions, evoking the charm of a water town. Whimsical representations of classic characters from Journey to the West and the tale of the Eight Immortals crossing the sea delighted onlookers, drawing crowds who paused to admire the spectacle.   For the first time, a contingent of Hong Kong and Macao residents took part in the parade. They eagerly engaged with the audience, sharing blessings and fostering a heartwarming atmosphere of unity and kinship that reflected the harmonious spirit of the Greater Bay Area. Participants from Hong Kong and Macao expressed their joy and hope for more such celebrations in the future.
